If a road is closed or a Greyhound service is cancelled, we will notify you as soon as possible using the contact details provided at the time of booking.
If the disruption occurs while you are already travelling, you may be returned to your departure point or another safe location. You will then be able to continue your journey at a later date without paying any additional fare.
In these situations, your Greyhound ticket will typically be converted to an open‑dated ticket, valid for 12 months from the original date of purchase. This gives you flexibility to rebook when services resume and conditions are safe.
Important things to know
- Road closures and cancellations often occur due to safety reasons such as floods, fires, cyclones, or other road conditions.
- These events are usually outside Greyhound’s control.
- Open‑dated tickets allow you to rebook later, subject to availability.
- Refunds are not automatically provided when services are cancelled due to road closures or natural events.
For the latest updates on your service, always check the Greyhound Coach Tracker or your booking notifications. If you need further assistance, Greyhound Customer Service can help explain your options.
